Swiss / EEA nationals now qualify as international yacht owners
Published on 28/05/2015
As a result of changes made in 2015 to Maltese legislation, nationals of Switzerland or of the European Economic Area (EEA) now qualify as international owners of Malta flagged yachts. They no longer need to create a Maltese company to own a Malta registered yacht, but they may just appoint a resident agent in Malta.
This is good news as costs are considerably reduced for citizens of Switzerland or of the European Economic Area (EEA) who are considering flagging their yacht in Malta
